Story 32. Written by Rosa J. Vargas

One person, Rosa J. Vargas 16611291808, reflects on something the Medicis once said: "Preparation is the key to victory."

Then she ponders. The Medicis went extinct in 1737. But is that true? Surely there were a few illegitimate children whose bloodlines still carry the Medicis' genes to this day. If this could be proven, then these descendants—or even a single descendant—could lay claim to Florence itself. Based on this thought, she decides to start a business.

She comes up with the idea on 2025.01.18 and writes it down on 2025.01.19—at 6:51 AM, to be precise. Now it’s 6:52 AM, so no one can take this idea away from her because she, among all of humanity, was the one to conceive it.

The plan is to create a database that includes every extinct family, heirless works of art, properties, royal houses, lands, famous individuals, and so on, along with their DNA. Anyone could upload their own DNA to this database. A computer would then compare it with the existing dataset and prove how closely related the person or people are. Based on this, it would determine what they could lay claim to.

If a match is found, the lawyers employed by the platform would begin legal proceedings to reclaim the inheritance. Once the individual receives what is rightfully theirs, the platform would deduct 25% of the inheritance as its fee.

The platform would also tell the stories behind these claims. This would become the "book within the book," the "picture within the picture." On the site, people could follow who received what and what they did with it, and so on.
